What to do in Harrietville

The 70 ft deep Tronoh Lake is the ideal place to cool down in Summer with a jetty, pontoon, shade sail & BBQ area. The lake is regularly stocked with various fish breeds so try your luck year round.

The Ovens River runs through Harrietville in 2 directions as it branches at the beginning of the town. There are many quiet shallow spots for children or those just wanting to dip their toes in.

Be guaranteed a catch at the Mountain Fresh Trout & Salmon Farm. Free entry & rod, try your luck in the ponds and they will clean and gut the fish for you! Pay for the fish per kilo and have the ultimate Summer BBQ. Simply season the fish, stuff with lemon & lime, wrap in foil and throw on the BBQ for 8 minutes each side. Delish!

Step back in time at the Harrietville Historical Museum displayed in an original renovated miner's cottage. Showcasing the town's history through the gold rush with re-created room scenes, amazing photographs and lovingly restored antique pieces you can't help but be caught in the moment! For a little more history of a spookier kind explore the old Harrietville Cemetery!

In Summer pick fresh blueberries from the 'Pick Your Own' Blueberry Farm. Grab a basket and pay per kilo for the most delicious fresh berries.
